About About
Welcome to The Quiet Sanctuary Counselling Practice. My name is Helen Wilson and I am a fully qualified, fully insured Person Centred counsellor. I am also registered with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). Life can be extremely difficult, and in these unprecedented times, it can feel even harder. Sometimes we all need to talk to someone in confidence, without feeling judged or afraid to do the wrong thing in case we upset someone, when really all we want to do is what is right for ourselves. Only you know what path you would like to take to feel fulfilled and content.

At The Quiet Sanctuary, you will experience a relaxed, calm non judgemental environment where you can work through any difficulties you may be facing in complete confidence. I have been practising since 2018, and have experience working with trauma, low self esteem and confidence, sexual abuse, relationship difficulties, depression, anger, bereavement, cancer related issues, work issues, anxiety, addiction plus many more life changing situations.
I offer face to face consultation and strictly adhere to the Government's, and the BACP's guidelines, related to Covid 19. However, if you would prefer, I also offer telephone consultations. The choice is completely yours.

What to Expect:

I offer an initial free 30 minute consultation, where we can discuss what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain. It is also an opportunity for you to see if you feel comfortable with with me therapeutically. Following this, all sessions are 50 minutes whether by phone or face to face. After every 6th session, there will be a review to allow us to discuss how you feel you are progressing and if you feel your needs are being, or starting to be met. Therapy at The Quiet Sanctuary is not time limited; therefore, you are able to attend until you feel your needs are met.
If you do feel that you no longer wish to attend, it is important that there is an appropriate ending session, as this allows for a suitable conclusion to the therapeutic process.
